Jig Question for all. Also Evolution Jigs?

Featured Replies

When someone refers to fishing a jig, I think of a Strike King Denny Brauer Casting Jig, a hook with a lot of rubber skirts around it and hanging off ot it. Usually someone will attach a trailer to it. Makes it look like a crawfish.

When everyone refers to a jig is that what they mean? Or are they talking a football jig, spot remover, shakey head style. I see the word jig used liberally. Just would like to know.

Never had luck with a jig and trailer. Thanks

Also I am thinking of ordering a couple Evolution Jigs? What colors does everyone recomend? Thanks

Same as you.

To answer the second question: any color that they sell. I fished the evo jig last weekend with great success. I was fishing a shallow rocky bottom so I could see the jig on the bottom. It sat perfectly nearly every landing. Looked good. In about an hour of fishing I caught a 3lb bass (Northern IL means this is a good size), a few smaller bass, and a 9 lb carp!

Whit evo jig is sick (really good for a swimming jig imo)

Blue/Black

Green Pumpkin

These are my favorite jigs :o

To me, jig=skirted jig with a trailer

jighead= a jighead with no skirt or trailer

Shakey rig, Alabama Rig, Jig and worm, jig and craw=

jigheadwith soft plastic trailer, no skirt
