Shak-E2 jigs

Featured Replies

First of all, thanks to the company for mailing me some samples.

I used it a few times but one thing I find is it's hard to keep the shaky worm from Shaw Grisley on the thing.  The screw head is just too big and the worm comes off it easily.  I was wondering why didn't you guys consider using the thing wire screw type like the football ones I have? they hold on to the worm much better.

If you have to, rig it like a texas rig and dont use the post.

Most worms I have used will stay on the post, but I think the worms you are talking about are like the 3X stuff.  Very difficult to stick or a post OR even a screw lock.

Speed, Those plastics from Srike King are difficult to work with. I am not here to bash them -I am just stating a fact when it comes to this technique of adhereing the bait to the Shak-E2 Head. They do have their places of course but not here. I tested just about every size and shape of screw holder and what I found was that if you didnt get the bait to go on correctly the first time-it was wasted.Basically ripped the head of the bait and then had to be thrown away. Another thing I found was when using the screw type holders --if the worm wasnt straight- it would cause a corkscrew action or twisting during the retrieve. I didnt like that.. 99% of the baits I applied to the head work fine. If you are old like me -I have trouble screwing that worm on the head LOL

What about a dab of glue?

Better yet, what about a dab of glue that is infused with Megastrike?

Hmmm....Megastrike Glue? Interesting concept.... :o

Bobby, its cool. I knew what you meant. Besides, I still feel like a goon for recommending a scent company to the owner of another....

I never thought about the action of the worm due to the screw head type. It's just frustrating when you throw it out there and find the worm has come off when you wheel it in.

I guess I can switch worms :o
