U.S. Soldiers Overseas Kids

Featured Replies

I just wanted to let everyone know about a wonderful nonprofit orginazation that is doing wonderful things for our soldiers kids. The website is www.dogtagsforkids.com They send a dogtag to a child whose mom or dad is serving overses. This little dog tag may be THE LAST THING THESE KIDS EVER GET FROM THEIR PARENT! The dog tags only costs 50 cents each. Please check out the site and make a donation. One dollar buys 2 tags for kids. I know things are hard right now as I am laid off myself but a dollar? Its well worth it and they take paypal. I , OR NO ONE ELSE GAINS FROM THIS BESIDES THE KIDS!

I had an idea last year.  I was thinking about all the kids who's male role model is now missing because of active duty.  I was thinking we could set aside a day or make a list of people willing to take a kid out for the day fishing (with an accompanying adult)

Just keeping the role model there and letting him see how America and his direct community are supportive of what their dad is doing.

My loss is contacts.  I wouldn't know who to contact to find kids.

I would try a recruitment center they should point you in the right direction.

Thanks so much Joe and thanks them. It's a tough place to be. Something this little can really make a difference It's a way that a kid can connect, wearing a dogtag just like his hero, his mom or dad does. Peace.
