Ok, so this is my first year fishing with plastic worms. Actually, pretty much my first year not just going for carp haha. I've been fishing plastic worms weightless with decent results, but I always see people talking about fishing them weighted. Will I have much better results if I do put a weight on the end? The main reason I dont do it is because there is alot of vegetation in the waters I fish and i dont want the weight getting caught on all that bullsh*t on the bottom because it's annoying haha. my home lake has alot of weeds at the bottom so i use wieghtless worms to stay out of the weeds

I prefer weightless because of the grass and hydrilla.

I fish a 10" ribbontail worm with a bullet weight on it and I have a ton of hydrilla and milfoil in my lake. The weight lets the worm sink deep down in the grass where the big boys hide. Yes, you get grass on it from time to time but that's worth the fish I pull out.

A fish wont hit the lure if it's got some grass on it though right?

pulling a weighted worm through the weeds on the bottom is a killer technique.

Whether you have a weight or not if you get caught in grass just pop it out.  Most worms are slender enough to do this and if the bass are down deep in grass you need a weight.
