Some pics from R.I.

Needed to get out of the house. Winter depression has hit me harder this year than any other. Went down to my sanctuary to clear the cobwebs out of my head.

I hope you don't mind, some of those are now part of my picture show screen saver.

Are those shopped?  Just wondering how you got that sepia tone on some of those.

Thanx cart. I touched them up in iphoto. It was really overcast, not the best day for photography. The only thing I did was add some pop by using "antique" which is lighter than sepia. I used to have a darkroom in my house for a number of years... this digital stuff is almost like cheating. I haven't picked up my Ricoh or Minolta 35mm's in a long time...  :(

very nice....moar?

I can relate to those winter blues. Awesome flix Matt.

Hope you don't mind, I'm now using one of them as my wallpaper. :)

Beautiful pictures! My sanctuary is the river bottom that I live by.

Fantastic shots, you would'nt happen to have these in 1900x1080 would you? Id love to use the 2nd and last as background images.

Thanx all. Oregon, I currently have the second one as my desktop. It's 3040 x 2288

Will that work?

Matt's full line of outdoor photos will be available at www.LowBudgetHookers.com, all sizes and formats available, lmao.

Matt, keep laughing but I've always considered trying to offer my stuff up for sale online, if we teamed up, there would be plenty for folks to choose from.  I never knew that you too were a shutterbug.  I'm the same way though, since digital, my Canon a-1 and Monilta srt-201 have become dust collectors

You Rhode Islanders sure have a pretty state.

For some reason, its one of the places I have most wanted to visit.

Beautiful pictures, Matt.

I also had a darkroom. Used to shoot a lot of B&W. This whole digital stuff is way beyond me. I miss my old Pentax K1000. Your last shots have that infrared look we used to get by putting a red Cokin filter in front of the lens. Cokin, there's a name from the past.

You know how it is.... gotta be inspired. I have a real hard time going out trying to make some shots "happen" It's one of the things that turned me off about photography in college. Having to "make" an assignment happen in order to get a grade.

Great spot, so is the areas  that the charter boats hit out of Sheepshead Bay Bklyn. There is another spot Breezy Point in Queens that offers wonderful surf fishing.

I like the area along the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn from the 65th st Pier to the whole wall going to Toys r Us at Bay Parkway,

Tides are strong it's where the Hudson pours out into the Atlantic Ocean. On the right tides you can really hammer them between 6 to 10 lbs. from shore.

What I did was I took a night class just to learn. Didn't apply towards making graduation or anything as school was long since over. Because of this, although they were "assignments",...I didn't care about the grade so didn't perceive any pressure, instead it was fun.

It was just a class on the basics, no developing, but it explained alot of the techniques and mechanics.

One thing I learned is that w/o having an eye for composition, all the technique in the world doesn't matter.  It's how a person combines the 2 that differentiates the level of their art.  (IMO)

Great pics!  My family used to have a house near Newport. I learned how to fish for stripers with my dad at Brenton Point.  Nothing beat the feeling when I caught my first one.  Thanks for sharing the pics.

The Brenton point REEF is an area that made me alot of money back in the day.  ;)

Still a good spot. Just hard to reach from shore!
