I know this may sound dumb, but I have always wondered how gummy worms/lizards would do on the water.  They are a great consistancy, colorful, and would have a melting type attractant.  If you put them in a Lunker sauce, and threw them what do you think might happen.  I always wanted to, and may try in the Spring.  Pretty cheap for the number you get, and who knows...they probably don't see many gummies down there!  Any responses would be interesting.

Try it and report back to us. I would buy a few extra bags in case you're tempted.  

My grandkids did this in our pond--one caught a 22" largie on them--They seem to work as bait due to the multi-colors in them. As I have a worm bed for the kids to use, I told them to eat the gummy worms & use real worms. Skylor still sneaks one for bait when I'm not looking. :D

Cool post.  Tried it when I was a kid. Had trouble keeping it on the hook and keeping it straight. It gets very slimy and slippery when wet.I did however catch a bass on it,once,twitching it across some green pond scum.That fish would have struck anything though since it can't actually see what the bait is just smacking the commotion.

I don't know why I have been fascinated with this, but loved them as a kid, and still do.  Could be a cool trailer too????  Those guys down South should give it a try and report back....pics with a Bass taken on  a gummy worm will receive a free Bag from PA.  Post the pic here, and I will send a delicious treat your way.  Dumb I know, but would love to see what happens for those who can get out now. I can't think of any reasons not to use a Gummy Worm for bait.

The bass have no idea what they are and have never seen them before.

If they work maybe a manufacturer will start producing them in plastic with the same profile and colors.

And you would want to have them wet and slick so they can move easily without any annoying  dry friction....as you fish them.  ;D   ;D   ;D

When one rips....you could just eat it!...GREEN bait...Evironmentally safe..and consumable.

Now I am curious again.Might toss one on a carolina rig and see what happens.Worst case I might not catch anything eh?
