AFTER MANY YEARS I AM WALKING AWAY FROM MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

Featured Replies

Muddy,

I give my team, the Cardinals, the same respect they give me. When they make the effort to field a winning team, I make the effort to watch. When they fail, I turn away. I am not a die-hard fan of any pro team and I feel no guilt about this relationship. If they are only in it for the money (and they've proven that they are) then I am only in it for the good times.

You can call me a bandwagon fan, but I'm not about to get upset over the failure of a bunch of spoiled millionaires. I'll leave that for Cub fans.

;D

Dan

Only time I go to a game is with free tickets. Never have payed.

Only way I make it to a Cards game is if I am taking a client or a client invites me. Either way, somebody's company is paying for it and getting a tax write-off.

Hey Norman: no disrespect but I am done. I AM searching for an unaffiliated league, not a minor league club. I can't stand college with those freaking tin bats, if it's not ash, it isn't worth it for me. I will find some ball, that I can live with.

When the seats are empty enough and TV viewing dips enough , things may change and I would come back. That is why I say, just for today I have to walk away from this crap.

Best baseball around is the Cape Cod league. You gotta get up there.
