Does everyone prefer the size 8 or 10 Xrap for largemouth.  I picked up 2 size 8's today in olive and goby.  These are my first jerkbaits.  I catch 1-5 lb fish in my lake if that matters.

both sizes work equally well. with a fast reaction bait like this, im not sure if that size difference matters much.

Finding what the fish are looking for is key. Sometimes they want it very fast and sometimes they will hit it while its suspending. Other than that, jerk jerk....jerk..reel and repeat. This time of year is not my favorite time to throw them BUT that is just me on my particular lake. However, it was very effective last month!

whatever you do, dont do the same thing too much (unless its catching fish!)

try to keep your retrieve as erratical as possible. you dont want a mechanical retrieve.

other than that you just gotta experiment, you can jerk this thing very hard and it will go crazy and turn around and stuff, or you could give it regular jerks and it will dart around side to side like a normal jerkbait. you could even just reel it straight back like a normal minnow bait if the fish dont want a really aggressive approach.

like i said, just change it up, experiment, and dont be mechanical. you will eventually find fish, and then after you do, do what the fish want.

It was a size 10 slashbait style in hot steel. olive and silver are my next purchase.
