  1. Diamond 2 is what I have settled on. It has great pot life and a real fast cure cycle.
  2. Alconite and Hardloy are both forms of aluminum oxide and are excellent guides. Don't you make most of your custom rods with Hardloy and Alconite guides? Personally I use aluminum oxide Batson micros with no issues.
  3. I am not looking for online sales. All I really want is something to show off my work and an email with my domain in it. I plan to sit down some this weekend and start messing with it
  4. Can anyone point me in a good direction for website design help. I need to create one for my custom rod business. I already purchased a domain name from Godaddy. Are there any programs(FREE) that are easy to use that I can just create the website and upload it to the server?
  5. In original bags . I have 6 one gallon ziplocks I sort them with. All kept in a dedicated soft tackle bag.
  6. Get a sandwich baggie and use that. Turn it inside out and stick your hand in it, apply Megastrike and then turn the baggie right side out. Just use the same bag all day and then toss at the end of the day. One of best points about Megastrike is the fact that it is Vaseline consistency and stays on the bait longer.
  7. It is time for me to tie up a new batch of jigs. I want to expand my color selection from solid black and green pumpkin. Please post some pictures of jigs you have created and a recipe for the skirt if you don't mind sharing. I am not very artistic and have a hard time picturing how something is going to look just by seeing skirt tabs. Thank you, Andy
  8. get some .030" to .060" stainless steel wire depending on the hole size of the weight. Put a short 90degree bend on one end and slip it through the weight. Powder paint and cure.
  9. I have a set of 4.7:1 Pro qualifier gears I would love to swap for a 6.4:1 or 7.1:1 set
  10. My preference is to build on straightest axis.
  11. I use 5-minute epoxy
  12. Rods look great. I like the decals. Do you use Photoshop, Gimp, etc?
  13. I have the polarized fives and am very happy with them.
  14. My favorite would be the White Trash Skinny Dipper on an Owner 5/0 screwlock hook.
  15. If you want a regular wire treble with cutting points check out the ST-31.
  16. Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't the hooks identical minus the fact that the ST-41 is a 2x diameter wire? And isn't the "cutting edge" a property of all owner hooks? I'm pretty sure its on most of the packs of regular hooks, but I could be wrong The ST-36 have needle points and the ST-41 have cutting point on them.
  17. Check out your local Academy sports clearance aisle. Mine had Green pumpkin Rage Shad and Black neon Rage toads for $1.44 a pack.
  18. put the rod in your wrapping stand and hook the tip with something. I usually use a 90 degree pick. Put a fair amount of pressure on the tip and you head it and it will pop right off. DO NOT TWIST!!! Option B is to hook a rubber band to something and put a paperclip on it it, hook it to the tip and put pressure on the tip while heating and will will pop right off
  19. You bet it will!! If you Modify the rod by splitting the grip you are still eligible to use the Gold Star Warranty program. Even if the modifications are at fault of the rod breakage.
  20. Is there not going to be anyone else there?
  21. The Way I understand it is that if you cut any length off off the butt or tip of a rod, the action will slow down. The way to speed the action up is to add length to the butt section.

Who is heading to the Rod Building Expo this year in High point, NC? It is always nice to put some faces to the names on here.
  23. I use 10 lb hybrid with no problems. just make sure your drag is set and you should be good to go.
  24. I just bought the SD1200 IS and could not be happier. Nice pics by the way.
  25. Look back a page or two. This topic was just discussed in the past week.
