Just as I was about to give up on sammy.

Featured Replies

I picked up a sammy a few weeks ago. My first cast with it almost got a fish. But it blew up behind the bait. So I have been throwing it ever time I head out. Well it finally paid off. I was working it is some chop. Then I see a splash were my bait is. So I reel down and set the hook. As iam getting it back iam not sure if the fish is still on. As iam reeling I can tell theres to munch bend in my rod. So the first fish for me is a nice sized white bass. Man I cant wait to see how munch the pikes around here love it. Theres only have one thing I hate about it. Theres no knocking like a spook.

Hope you got a leader on there if you're fishing in pike-infested waters.

I've heard those toothy mothers love stealing expensive lures from unsuspecting bass fishermen ;)

You know what I have never had a problem with pike. Me and a buddy fish for them around here more then smallies. I have caught them on frogs to jerk baits. We use 15lb test at the most. Most of them are 30 inches we catch.
