What is the common thoughts when to peg your weight on a t-rig ??

I would think you would always do it in heavy cover but what is the pro/con of pegging it under normal conditions.

You are correct. Heavy cover is the only time I peg my weight on either a short leader C-rig or a T-rig.

It depends on the area I am fishing...

If I am fishing a heavily fished lake I will always peg my weight cuz I don't want the bass to feel my weight sliding as I'm reeling down to set the hook.

If I fish in a tidal area I will only peg my weight when the tide is strong or in deep water.

Never! Well 99.95% of the time I will not peg my weight regardless of cover
