Fedor vs. Lesnar

Is not going to happen. At least for now. Fedor just signed a deal with StrikeForce so he will not see any action in the UFC (against the best fighters) for a while.

It kinda seems like Fedor wants to fight a bunch of nobody's to keep his 33-1 record intact. Alistair Overeem is the only HW in StrikeForce that even has a distant shot (at best) of beating down Fedor.

Is he scared of fighting in the UFC where all the best HW's fight? Sure seems like it.....man up Fedor!

I have heard that Fedor was upset with the manner in which the UFC approached him the first time, he felt it was disrespectful, that is why he hasn't signed with the UFC.  I have also head that the UFC doesn't want him to fight in his Sambo tournaments anymore if he signs with them.

This is just what I have heard don't know how true it is.

I do want to see that fight though.

Seems about right. It sppears as though Fedor has been ducking the UFC since Pride shut down. I'm sure the prospect of fighting Brock doesn't seem too inviting. Especially after he practically KO'd Mir from half guard. Overeem, Buentello & Rogers as top notch competition.....hardly.

UFC said they would let Fedor fight in the Sambo tourny's but the reason the deal fell through was because Fedors agent wanted something crazy like half ownership of the company. IMO Fedor would still be a stud in the UFC, but the longer it takes, the better the odds are for Lesnar, Velasquez, Carwin, ect. to beat him because he's not getting any younger. I also think this Brett Rodgers guy has a chance against Fedor. Look at his KO's, they are pretty good. And he is a big *** dude with a bad attitude.

Yeah, from what I've read Dana White did everything he could except for agreeing to co-promote with M-1. Thats like paying cash for a new Ferrari and tossing the keys to your worst enemy. I dont blame the UFC, I wouldn't have done that either. They did agree to let Fedor fight Sambo like he wanted, he could wear M-1 gear, shirts, shorts, hang an M-1 banner in his corner and whatever else and they offered a pile of money per fight plus a cut of the PPV money. I think UFC's offer was more than fair.....but Fedor tucked his tail and ran the other way.

If you're scared....say you're scared. Geez.

Lesnar is 4-1 and a champion?  He should have had to win more than a fight against Heath Herring and an aged Randy Couture to win the belt.  He looked good in the Mir fight, thats what the UFC has in the Heavyweight division.  So he is the best the UFC has, but not the best in the world.  I cant wait to see Kimbo in TUF he will go nuts in the house.  I am not a fan of him either, for the same reasons as Lesnar too much hype for their talent.  GSP, Ken Florian, Anderson Silva are talented fighters who deserve hype.  Just my opinion.

It seems to me that perhaps Fedor and co. might be overestimating what they have.  I can understand if they want to build their company.  However, I wonder if they are figuring that since "everybody" wants to see him in the UFC that Dana and the boys will cave.  I don't think they will, but maybe that is their strategy.

Dana White isn't stupid in not promoting a different MMA organization.  They are the best ran for a reason.  It would be smart for them to have a Super Bowl like PPV where every organization would send their best fighters at different weight classes and have those kind of matches.  They talked about that before but wanted the UFC to do all the promoting for it.

I'm not sure how long Fedor is signed in Strikeforce for, but it looks like that fight isn't going to happen.

Kimbo won't last long in TUF is my bet.

I don't think he will last either.  He will be a nut in the house after he loses though.

The rumor is that Kimbo loses early on TUF. But then again, the UFC could've leaked that on purpose. This is the first time after 6 or 7 seasons that a rumor of someone losing has gotten out so....who knows. Doesn't matter, I'm watching it like always, with or without Kimbo.

Anybody watching UFC 101 tomorrow night? Florian better not make any mistakes early or it will be game over. BJ should dominate. He's just on a different level than all the other 155's. I like Florian though, he's definitely earned his title shot.

Griffin vs. Silva might be interesting for about a round and a half.

Im pumped about ufc 101.

I think forrest has a good chance at beating silva depending on which Silva shows up

I'd love to see Florian whoop Penn, but it ain't gonna happen.  Penn is  a freak athlete who is just flat better than Florian at every facet of the game.  As far as Anderson-Forrest, I think Forrest has got a pretty good chance.  He's huge, has a great chin and will force the action.  It will be a nice change to see Anderson have to fight.  I felt like I got ripped of on the Leites & Cote fights.  Decent card at best, but I won't miss it.

Torres v Bowles on Sunday night is IMO a better main event.

All you guys are making me laugh.

Who's this "top competition" Fedor's ducking anyway?

Unproven up-and-comers Cain and Carwin?

Old man Couture? :D

Cup-Chieck Kongo?  ;D

Mir would get owned.

Cro-cop and Nog- been there done that (when they were the best thing goin')

That leaves Lesnar, who's 4-1. With wins aginst Old Man River, a lay and pray hump fest over Herring (you should rewatch what Fedor did to Heath when Heath was considered the #1 contender and Fedor was a nobody), and of course a win over Mir (still need the rubber match)

Pardon me if I'm a little UNDERWHELMED by this "top copetition." ::)

Its all business anyway. Fedor's still under a M1 contract.

Besides there's good matchups in Strikeforce: Overeem, Monson, Rogers.

If anything, this will give Lesnar more time to "get his weight up." That way it will be worth it when Fedor finally does come to the UFC and goes home with Lesnar's arm. ;)

I really think Florian could win that fight.  Penn has had problems with his conditioning before if he was serious about training he should win but if he wasn't he has a good chance of losing.

Silva will be ready to fight, but I heard an interview with Forrest and he said he wasn't going to walk around at all before the fight so he is putting a lot in to this fight.

Monson? Please. Overeem? Doubt it. Rogers? Maybe.

I'm sure Fedor & Co. have long term ideas by deciding to sign with Strikeforce but it just doesn't look good to the fans that want to see him pummel Lesnar. Like me.
