Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers

My dad had his vocal chords removed about a week and a half ago and the pathology and pet scans showed no further signs of cancer. He is starting to eat semi-solid foods such as pudding, creamy soup and icecream. He is slowly learning to communicate with a couple of the devices they have provided for him and I think that will be the toughest part. Although he was a man of few words to start with. Hopefully, we'll be fishing together next spring but he cant get the stoma, which is the tube that is inserted in his neck wet, so I can't let him fall overboard.

Again, thanks to all. My family really appreciated the support and I'm sure it helped.

That is good news and the prayers will keep going out.

May your dad heal quickly and live a long life.

Good to hear Ken! Take him ice fishing that will keep him dry!

It won't be long before you two are back on the water again. Good Luck.

With my luck he'd fall through. We've got to find a life jacket that will not only be comfortable but keep his whole head and neck upright and out of the water as he breaths through his neck now.

Anyone have any ideas?

Im glad to hear the good news. I wish your father a speedy recovery and hope you guys get out on the water this spring and slay them.
