UT vs OU

Oh yeah, baby!! Ugly as hell, but a W is a W. And this W is always especially sweet.

At halftime I informed the television set that Texas needed to have Colt run some designed run plays to open things up. They started doing that in the second half and it seemed to really help their offense. He can run, they should let him.

I'll take the W and you never know how things are going to sort out, but I think we are heading for BCS trouble.

Ugly win over OU gets us no style points and with Bradford out they might have more than 3 losses once this things over.

OSU has already lost and with Bryant out who knows if they can finish with only 2 losses

Baylor lost their QB so they aren't as tough as everyone thought they were going to be either.

Besides those games we have two should be gimmies UCF and TAMU and two semi-tough games in Mizzou and Kansas.  Then the Big 12 championship game.

Add it all up and I don't know if thats a difficult enough schedule to be #2.  Seems like all the BCS guys predict UT to open at 4 behind a one loss VT school and that a one loss Alabama(to florida) team would be ahead of UT in the final polls.  Even if, and I realize it's a big if at this point, we win out I think we are going to be crying at the end of the year.

Unless Florida loses here in about a minute. :)

Nevermind. ::)

lol. That was way too close. They aren't going to gain any points for that win. I think Alabama is going to get more votes for #1 this week. Things might get very interesting by the end of the year.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but as a college football fan in general, I hate all of the talk about "style points."  A win is a win.  It's almost like teams are expected to play by Vegas rules and cover the spread. :-/

I disagree to an extent. I base a portion of the comparisons I make on how soundly one team beats another. The "elites" shouldn't have to fight off the Arkansas type teams by a field goal in the last seconds. I understand rivalry games must be gaged differently but I do factor it into my evaluation of teams.

so far this day, the tide is the only top 10 team that looks top 10.

except for the gator cheerleaders.

Well, Matt,

Florida pulled it off, but it looks like VA Tech is going to lose today, so that would put Texas at 3, with 1 and 2 playing each other later in the season.  They probably won't let 1 and 2 play each other twice (in a row especially).  So, at this point it looks like Texas holds their own future in their hands.

I'd like to point out that I called the Ga Tech upset of VaTech this past week. Although I didn't see Purdue over OSU.

and, at halftime, even the tide's tripping on their toes.

OU has had some great QB's recruited, but when QB's come in like Bradford and start right off the bat, they tend to transfer cause they get no playing time.   Stoops loves style points. While OU gained so called "style points" last year while setting scoring record, they got their jr linemen how much experience?   none

It kinda showed against BYU, then a QB with no experience, whos good, but not seasoned yet .

Colt isn't playing his best ball yet, thats the positive to Texas ugly wins thus far.

Any kinda win over OU is a great win.

Mark Ingram has tripped for 246 yards (more than the total yardage of SC), over 10 yards per carry, and a touchdown SO FAR. :o I think Alabama will survive this one. ;)

yea, they seem to have stepped it up in the second half.  8-)

Bama looks to be head of the class thus far for #1.

Really don't matter, it will all be settled in the SEC championship.

Ingram was a beast. He is definitely one of the best RBs in the country.

I didn't get to watch it all but it seemed like a good game and it was fun to watch.
