- I hate lowballs. I just don't get people
I finally found someone that is similar to me. I'm kind of a combination of several from above. Perhaps its a competitive deal I'm not sure. lol I'm also not a fan of parting with my stuff in general! If I think that someone is trying to screw me then forget it. I'll either hang on to it, give it away to a needy person or worst case I'll put it in the trash. That being said the grandkids are starting to get old enough that I gave them & the son-in-law a bunch of gear late last year. The grandkids are still really young so I didn't give them top notch stuff but good enough that they won't get frustrated. I bought the son-in-law a Pflueger President spinning real for Christmas so that he gets a taste that better gear is worth it & makes fishing more fun. 5 daughters = 4 grandsons and a 5th grandson on the way! Paybacks are priceless!- Tipptruck, whear ar ewe?
Some of the posts on this thread are hilarious. Thank you for the entertainment.- Lake/dock owners & fisherman very rude no respect
I started to write it one way then switched mid-stream, not by best job of editing! Lol I tried to say that the poster didn't specifically say that all fisherman were one way or the other. i wouldn't be surprised if a large percentage of dock fisherman were inconsiderate. It seems to be an "it's all about about me" society that we live in these days. re: "The OP wrote "I find fisherman to be very rude and inconsiderate of people who own lake property." There is no way one can read that sentence and infer any other meaning than all fisherman, even if he didn't use the word all. In that sentence, "All" is implied." Yes there is a way to read that & infer that he doesn't mean all. The glass is half full or half empty would be one example. Perhaps one of those agreeing to disagree situations.- Lake/dock owners & fisherman very rude no respect
Personally I find the original post in the thread to be fairly classy. He(or she) didn't necessarily say that all fisherman were bad as many replies implied. He or she didn't not say all fisherman were not bad either. I think that he or she made a fairly classy post and was ripped for it. Whether it was a 1st post or not seems irrelevant. Obviously I'm in the minority and will most likely also get ripped as well. Just saying that I thought that some Bassresource posters could have done better. FFI- How many rods is too many?
I do a lot of bank fishing for bass in the dark and only for about 2hrs per outing so time is of the essence. Thus getting, into the tackle box, retying and all that stuff not to mention dealing with the flashlight wastes a ton of time. As a result I carry at least 2 rods and sometimes 3. I have them pre-rigged with what I want to use so I can have up to 3 ready to go options.- Car Shows on TV
Although it is fairly fake I enjoy Garage squad. Also enjoy Bitchin rides. All girls garage isn't bad Leno when I catch him is really good Counting Cars is good. Graveyard cars has great cars they focus on Mopars but the owner is so full of himself it isn't funny.... He prob means well but he is an arrogant know it all jerk. He is super smart and super talented but personality-wise he is an idiot. I watch Stacey David's show once in a while because it is so hands on.- Favorite One-Liner Quote
These are movie quotes so not quite the same.... Sleezy uncle Michael Douglass to his parentless nephew- "What's the matter son did you get you get her to the coat check room and find out she had a ten pin up her skirt?" Robin Williams when he screwed up in Good Morning Vietnam. If I make a boneheaded blunder I use this line to myself - "This won't look good on a resume!"- Banished
LMAO, Nicely done, timing was perfect.- Skarping
I heard that instead of calling this "The Redneck fishing Tournament" that they were going to rename it "The Raider Nation Open". There was a technical glitch though as to rename it there had to be a "quorum" of members present to vote on the name change. Once quorum was mentioned it seems as though all the members immediately headed to the local quarry and haven't been seen nor heard from since! ???- Skarping
That is the Illinois river and is only minutes from me. I don't fish the river but those fish are a pain. As you can see people have learned creative ways to make the best of it. There are guided trips to bow fish for them, an annual redneck fishing tny for charity that draws 100's of boats where everyone wears crazy costumes and fishes with nets and such.- Have You Fallen In The Water By Mistake=Boat Or Shore

LS whU? I'm not necessarily a ND fan, just stirring the pot a little to have some fun.- Dont Know What To Do....
C & G, You've got a lot of time invested in this and 1-1/2 months is not going to kill you. Maybe make it a challenge and think of it this way.... It is 2 min's left in the 3rd period and you are tied, reach back and find that little bit extra fire you've trained to find throughout your career. If your 90% wasn't good enough the coach wouldn't be having you wrestle. Unless he is rewarding your loyalty and should really be starting someone else that is. Another option is to talk to the coach and tell him that you are burned out and know that you are not wrestling your best and would understand if he needs to start someone else. Maybe he wants to make that decision but is struggling with it. You probably ought to stick it out anyway as you committed to it. You can get through practices and ride the bus for 1-1/2 months. There is another sports season after wrestling so you will still have time for the fishing very soon. As others have said not finishing what you started can be easy but in some cases it can lead to habits that transpose in other facets of life. Quick story: College wasn't the norm in my generation and certainly not in my family history. I was essentially the 1st person from my family for as long as I know of to attend college. I only sought out a 2yr degree but as I was working full time it took me 4.5 yrs to finish it. I did this while working a 40-50+ hr a week job (some of which was 2nd shift), getting married and owning a home. for 9months of the year I had a 2nd job (baseball & softball umpire) at night often from 5-10pm anywhere from 3 to 5 nights a week and often 6-10 hrs a day on weekends. Several times I was exhausted and wanted to quit but I slugged through it and graduated with a degree in Industrial Electronics Instrumentation. I would have survived w/o it but I wouldn't be who I am today had I not finished it. More importantly my children wouldn't have had the opportunities that they now have. Good Luck with whatever you decide (sorry for writing a book) My .02 FFI- Dont Know What To Do....
Your feedback is way out in left field and way over the top in my opinion. Not one single person here is telling him what to do he asked for feedback and people have offered very classy well thought out tasteful replies. No one including the author mentioned anything about anyone forcing him to do anything. he seems completely at will to make whatever decision he wants.- Messing With Telemarketers
I've tried a couple of different shenanigans with the telemarketers. I did one after another comedian from Bob & Tom. I did a short version of the "do you know how to get blood out of a carpet". I kept that one going for a while. Another one I kept busy trying to sell them "Amway products" I'm not an Amway distrib nor do I use them. I just made it up as I went. I almost sold perfume to the woman on the phone. I kept that one going for quite a while as well. As far as the respect thing, at one point in time there was a place for it. Presently if you are on the do not call list it is ILLEGAL! Sure they are just trying to make a buck but it is AGANST THE LAW = end of story. Things change they are no longer the same its time to make a new way of making a desperate honest buck. The other issue is the "call masking ones" such as "Rachael from card services". They are from offshore and use software that disguises their true phone#. The government has been after them for years but is never going to catch them as it is virtually impossible to trace.- Most Sensitive Rod In The 100 Dollar To 150 Dollar Range
I don't know about the most sensitive but of the rods that I have used at this price point (or even ones above this point) I like the Shimano Compre (2 or model years ago) and the Fenwick HMG's (3-4 yrs ago). I like them both better than the St Croix Avid (a few years ago) that I have. I bought a MH for the Shimano as it was all that they had in stock on sale. I'm glad that I did as the MH feels more like M but it does hold up like you would expect a MH to. I bought a Shimano Crucial the same day as the Compre and like the Compre hands down over the Crucial. I have both a spinning and a casting HMG. I got both on great deals and wish that I would have bought several more of ea. It doesn't hurt that I got great deals on all of them (including the St Croix) if I remember right I got the Compre for $39 or $49(?) (Crucial for $79?) I got the HMG spinning for something like $60 (?) I got the St Croix for $100 shipped to my door I'm always contemplating selling the St Croix as it doesn't do anything for me but shipping and packaging is too much of a pain to mess with.- I Should Have Charged A Million Dollars For This!
My guess anyone whose wife works, whose wife babysits young kids who might be sleeping, Whom you might not want your coworkers to be a part of the conversation Most anyone under 60? Other than that nobody that. I can think of.- F4 Is In The House!
Update, It has taken over a year to get to this point. We finally finished up with the insurance co 2 days before the 1 year mark. Not all of that is their fault it is just a slow and tedious process in general. had they not "accidently" kept leaving things out it would have gone much faster. Not all damage shows up right away some of it can take a month or more to show up as the house settles back. We found quite a bit of damage after the fact and had to have an engineer look at some potential structural issues (they turned out to be fine). That took a month all by itself. We started out at around $9K on the 1st insurance estimate (house only) and finished up at around $45k The roof and garage wall were fixed back in March or so. The patio and storm doors we installed back then as well. With the additional late damage that showed up it delayed things a bunch. Plus the insurance co missed a lot on their 2nd trip out. When we got the 3rd adjuster out in Sept or Oct(?) things moved along a little better. Actually I think that things starting moving much quicker when my contractor reamed there arses. Our siding was put on last week. We also installed new outdoor lighting and redid the porch so the outside of our house looks better than it did before the tornado. The painter is there this week to do the vaulted ceilings. I did the bedroom painting so that we can put it towards upgrading the house. Note: We were (understandably) put on the back burner so that the contractors could focus on the people whose homes were destroyed and no longer had a place to live. We have been able to live in our house within a few days of the storm when we got power and water restored. Of the 890 homes that were demolished a lot have gone up but probably only around 200(?) are finished enough for people to have moved in. I've learned a lot about insurance and how they work (kind of mind boggling. We have witnessed the wonderful humanity and tremendous caring of people. One plus is that I have lost 30lbs (got a 12# running head start from the tornado) and am still working at that. We will still have some chimney, outside back staircase block and some other things to do but progress is coming along. I'll post an updated picture as soon as I can remember how to post one. FFI - Washington IL- I Should Have Charged A Million Dollars For This!
but I won't, I will give all of you this advice for free as a Christmas present. Note .... Before sending a semi racy smart azz'd text to your wife.... make sure that she actually has the phone in her hands and not one of your 15yr old daughters!!! A comment might or might not have been made about her having cold buns! lol (luckily it was a tame comment!) Merry Christmas Everyone- Bah Hum Bug
Too bad it wasn't earlier or we could have all chipped in and bought him one from BassResource.com- Bah Hum Bug
Some people just can't help themselves! lol- Jay Cutler And Da Bears
It is quite possible that management is protecting their investment or at least a protecting it a little. When the opposing team's defense spends more time in your backfield than your team as the Saints did on Monday night it doesn't matter who quarterback's your team. Cutler has had plenty of games where he outright sucked in his own right this year. The running game has also been hideous at times. who knows maybe that is because they know that we cant pass? Either way it is a painful time to be a Bears fan. I think Cutler will pick it up a little as I think his ego is too big to ride the bench long so he will put some extra effort into it.- The Mind Of Raider
It gets no better than that right there- How About Them Cowboys!
I liked the Cowboys until the Jerry the buffoon Jones came along. I was and am a diehard Bears fan but I appreciated good football teams - old school Rams, 49er's, Oakland, Steelers, Vikings...... Before Staubach you had Craig Morton who was not exactly a chump. In those days you had Bob Hays, Bob Lilly, Preston Pearson, Herb Atterly, Mel Renfro, Robert Newhouse, Lary Cole, Calvin Hill, Jethro Pugh, Leroy JordanEd Too tall Jones, Charlie Waters and a whole butt load of great talent! Heck at one point Dallas had both Lance Alworth & Bob Hayes, Don't forget about my beloved Ditka Da coach).! - I hate lowballs. I just don't get people
