  1. re the small bass you have to experiment some just try different lures smaller ones and larger ones. I have found lately though that during this 2 month long high 90's and 100's heat the bass along shore have been small. A lot of wht I have read has said that more fish in warmer ( not hot) water but very big possible in cooler even cold water. I've caught a 4 or 5 17 & 18 inchers but has been much harder when hot temps. Not an expert so just my 2 cents worth.
  2. I'm a novice bass fisherman I just took up bass fishing last year. I fish a lake similar to yours but with a lot less cover and I do 90% from the bank. I have found that things just change and you have to figure it out. Fish are in one place for a while then they will be somewhere else. Lures very sometimes only spinnerbaits work sometimes crank baits and sometimes plasic worms or swim baits. I have never caught anything on a true Carolia or texas rig. I just tie on the hook and put enough split shots above it to be able to cast ( 1 -2 small ones). I'm sure this is in large part because of me being a newbie. Sometimes nothing works and fishing mid day is always tough to me. The one constant I have found is fishing at dusk for the nex 45mins to 2hrs is always the best. Fish sideways along the bank about 7-10 feet from shore. Fished last night and caught 2 bass and 6 channel cat fished today mid day and only 2 bites in 3 hrs. Good luck and keep us posted
  3. sorry that was my first post sun is out of view but still giving off some light. Cast out from bank 6 or 7 feet but sideways however far you have room for
  4. I'm fairly new to fishing but I have found that about 10mins after the sun sets ( not completely out of view but still giving some light) for about the next 45mins is prime fishing time. I am a bank fisherman but that seems to be when the fish come in very shallow. I cast sideways from the bank not out more than 6 or 7 feet. The lures very, buzz baits have worked, spinnerbaits, cranks and plastic worms expecialy the standard purple worm. The lakes I fish tend to close at 10 or 11pm but they seem to taper off around that time anyway. I have fished around 6am and never have as much luck then although that is probably late for morning fishing. I've only been fishing for less than a year so take it for what it is worth.
