New to Pond managment and need some help

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I was wonderin if there are any active pond managers out here who would answer a few questions.

1. Whaich would be the best top preditor to stock Northern largemouthbass, florida largemouthbass, or F1 tiger bass?

2. What would be the best baitfish, fatheads, crawfish, threadfin shad, gizzard shad, or golden shiner?

3. Which type of fish food and feeders work best?

Oh my goodness, there's no one way to answer this.  There's no "silver bullet" answer. It depends heavily on your pond (size, structure, current population, climate, fertility, etc, etc, etc,).  In essence, the answer is "it depends".

That said, you're asking the right questions.  The best advice I can give you is to educate yourself as much as possible.  Start by reading these articles:

Enjoy!
