So bad I just have to laugh...

So I'm about to start a new drug so I don't have to go for infusions every 8 weeks. It is a self-injection and works in those that the infusion treatments do not. The doctor offers it to me and said he would recommend it over the infusion treatments. I say "Sure, sounds good." So I drop the prescription off yesterday and they have to special order it.

I get a phone-call today that despite my double coverage, neither one covers it and it will be $2000 a month. I guess infusions it is. ;D

Ya gotta love the healthcare/health insurance in this country.

;D ;D ;D

Man I feel for you. Going through the same thing here. Been getting botox injections in my neck every 90 days through my pain doctor until August. Blue Cross and Merc Medco quit paying for them. Now require me to go to a neurosurgeon to get them or pay the 2,400 out of pocket. You would think they would rather save the visits to the surgeon, but they don't. Go figure.

Good luck

I hope I get you for the X-mas exchange mike...

That sucks man. Same boat here on a prescription my doctors want me to go onto, but my health insurance doesn't. Said I need to try at least 2 other types of treatments that have basically been ruled a waste of time and money before moving to a treatment that will work.  If I was  to try to pay for the real treatment that insurance wont cover its about 1600 a month.
