The bass is long gone, fortunately, the hair has remained.

My situation worked out exactly the opposite ;D

I had several BCR's but the best one I had was an American made Eagle. I even had Neal Moser sign the truss rod cover. He was the man at BC Rich behind their famous electronics back in the day and now builds his own line of custom guitars and basses.

This is a bass that I should have kept.....REALLY should have kept :-/

Did you find the Rich heavy or heavier than it should be?

It weighed exactly 11lbs so it was certainly on the heavy side.  With a wide foam strap it hung nicely and sounded amazing.  I've owned my share of pointy, 80's basses and never really had a problem with any of them balancing.  It just takes some getting used to.

bassman that p-bass makes me drool! that really has the greatest tone an electric bass can possibly produce, with the exception of a pedula or an actual upright. i'll have to post pics of my upright when i get home from work. awesome thread. p.s., have you listened to herby hancock's headhunters? p-bass baby, p-bass 8-)

I don't actually have any pictures of my instruments to post. My current lineup consists of;

1. Carvin LB76 6 string

2. Schecter body P bass with '72 Jazz neck, Schecter bridge, DiMarzio P pickup, DeArmond Gold Tone humbucker, All Parts concentric knobs, switches, and jacks.

3. Dean Performer acoustic bass guitar.

4. Upright with carved spruce top, Gage Realist pickup.

I'm playing the Carvin in my avatar photo and the neck and headstock of the upright is just visible to my far left.

Thank you sir.  I have my dad to thank for taking such good care of it for so many years before it exchanged hands to me. 

& stringjam it's awesome that your fiance plays bass.  My wife & I are just the opposite.  She plays guitar & I play the bass. 

Of the various P basses I have, there are two favorites. This old Aria "Primary" bass is set up with LaBella Flatwound strings. It was made in the Matsumoku factory in the early 80's and has a FAT P bass neck that I just love. It's been played hard over the years but still sounds fantastic. It also has a custom wound Fralin pickup.
