Anyone on here ever been bitten by a pickeral? I always reach for the pliers but I always wondered if it hurt too bad?

I catch Mr Esox by the boatloads up this way. I keep my hands away from the teeth whenever possible. I find that proper handling of them allows you to avoid most incidents.

i've invested in a lip gripping scale since then.

Itches for awhile, lots of bacteria,..feels similar to getting poked with the spine on a shrimp.

their teeth are pretty big, and I don't typically put my hand in the mouth of something that has big teeth, especially when it's ticked off and probably going to bite me lol.
