Congrats on the new job. I wish you well.

I'm sure the bait monkey is thrilled. ;D

You'll be getting a employee discount now, which will likely make it worse.

Good luck.  Hope you get the position.

What separates the big box stores from the little tackle shops is the fishing department staff.

Many of the box stores put anyone in the fishing department and they have zero knowledge of the stock, baits, places to fish, what to throw, best techniques, etc. for different bodies of water.

You would be a wonderful asset to Gander Mountain if you know bass and other fishing.

Green Top in Richmond, Virginia is thriving even with Bass Pro Shop and Gander Mountain within three miles of their store.

When you go to Green Top you can speak with salespeople who are knowledgeable about bass and other fishing which makes shopping at Green Top a better experience than either BPS or Gander Mountain.

Share your information and you will also learn from others.  :)

Is there one opening up in San Deigo?

Hey sam we need to hook up and go fishin when i get to va ill be workin at the spotsy gander. I love shpooing at green top there the only ones around the area who sells robo worms with that size selection.  No im moving back to va in june.

awesome place to work I worked the fishing counter for 5 years. when I started I thought "i know some things I am a pretty good fisherman" after my first couple days I remember thinking "I suck"!I learned sooo much working there and being able to talk to so many different people about techniques, locations, electronics, gear etc you really figure out how much you don't know. as long as you don't act like you know everything and are willing to listen to the customers perspective you will really like it.

discount doesn't hurt either. ;)
