Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye Frog

Featured Replies

How do you guys fish this? I see Rojas getting it to walk the dog. But can't seem to make it do that. Fishing it usually on Braid anywhere from 20lb test to 60 lb test.

Twitch it, burn it, hop it, between long or short pauses, etc...

Make it look like a frog! Fish it anywhere a frog would hang out.

Walking the dog is a bit harder with frogs, it just takes time and practice. A good rhythm and the right amount of slack in your line is key.

Trimming the skirts a little shorter can help. Some guys like to trim one side shorter.I personally havent noticed a difference in doing that.I can walk it either way.

Also try a little "rod english". In other words don't pull/twitch the bait straight on.Point down and sharply move 6 to 7 o'clock or 7 to 8? Just a slight upward curve, and once again amount of slack in the line is key. This is for walking.

Just pulling or jerking the frog straight and making it hop works great too.Bounce it 3 or 4 times then pause.Vary the pauses.Vary how hard you yank it, from barely making rings on the water to making a splashy ruckus.

Sometimes if I have it stuck a little on weeds, scum,or on top of pads I will shake my rod tip to make it dance then slowly pull it into "the kill zone".
