"rugged" cell phone

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a solid waterproof cell phone?

I recently ran over (yes, ran over) my G'Z One and although it still makes and receives calls, the inner screen is unreadable. So, no texts, can't read my contacts, or see who called after the fact.

I have verizon, but am open to other providers as my contract is up.

Thanks-

Was going to get one but I got a texting phone instead.

Below is straight from Verizon's web page and below is one of the reasons i wanted it. (I tend to drop my phone alot and get it wet). Easy on yer wallet too 8-)

Thanks Bassclary-looks pretty good.

Glad I asked, that one wasn't coming up when I was searching the site for some reason.

Motorola Quantico......I've beat it up some and it still ticks: my service on the other hand sucks

I have the Exilim. It's very slow. When you try to pull up your texts there is a very noticeable delay. Also, my phone fell out of my pocket as I was getting out of my truck and landed on concrete. Since then, anytime I try to bring up the camera the phone makes a very strange noise and then restarts. I'm not happy and haven't had a chance to take it back yet.

Thanks for the info.

I guess I may end up not getting one that's waterproof, but insurance is then mandatory. I will definitely dunk any phone that is not protected. That's the way my luck tends to work.  :(

I saw where they have a way to back up your data now as well, so that will also help.

And for $2 a month ($25 a year) the insurance is well worth it, especially if you have a higher end phone.
