Thoughts and Prayers

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

My grandpa Kidd, who I was very close to, passed away on November 29th of this year. He was a fellow fishing buddy and I learned a lot from him.  We just celebrated Christmas without him and it has been very hard on my family. My grandma has dementia, which has been difficult, but we had an answered prayer when her sister volunteered to come live with her.

I lost my grandpa Edwards in December of 2007 and it was really tough, now I've lost my other grandpa. To be honest, it feels like your world is falling apart, but I know you all can relate to losing family members. I know a lot of you have probably lost loved ones like grandparents, parents, and brothers and sisters. I just ask that you keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone and I truly appreciate it,

Aaron

Sorry for your loss.  I lost my last living grandparent this year, so I'm right there with you.  Just remember that it's better to cry over great memories than to cry over memories you never made.

Sorry to hear about your loss Aaron.  It's one of those things all of us go through at some point.  I lost all of my grandparents and my father many years ago, but there are still many memories to fall back on.

Make sure to spend some more time with your grandmother.  Even though dementia takes away most of their short term memory, she will most likely be able to tell you many stories about your grandpa and the old days that you will want to know.

My condolences Aaron, my pa was my fishing buddy if I wasn't fishing alone.  The hurt and pain eases over time but the memories just don't fade as easy.  In time to come your gonna have new experiences, triumphs, and maybe even some set backs, but each time you have these life events you may find yourself talking with grandpa Kidd or Edwards, finding reassurance with your fond memories of each...sometimes even bringing a little smile to your face.  Once in awhile you even overcome a challenge only to realize that "Hey, this is what grandpa would have done"!  That there is a comfort like no other.

Lund Explorer has given you a good bit of advice with grandma also, there are still plenty of great grandpa memories to be shared.  Good luck and many prayers for you and your family.

Jason I pray for God's peace to be with you and your family at this difficult time. As I get older I am more aware that the the one constant in life is change. I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you all. I really appreciate it. I agree Lund, it's something I like doing and will continue to do.  Glenn, you're definitely right, that's solid advice. Grey Wolf, I'll try to stick around this time, haha. I want to really go after some more bass in 2011. I focused in on catfish in 2010 and didn't get on the board much, but I look forward to posting some more.
