Buying Suggestions for Cabelas tackle.

Featured Replies

I'll be making a trip to Cabelas soon and since I don't go there very often I would like to know some suggestions on baits to buy. You see im only able to really shop at Dicks and they don't offer everything Cabelas offers. What would you guys say are some "must get" baits at Cabelas? Also if you could recommend a good worm binder I would greatly appreciate that too. (I need somewhere to keep all these softbaits for when I walk the lake hah) Thanks ;D

It doesn't matter what store I go to I always am running short of jigs and pigs, rattles, and Zoom Baby Brush Hogs.  Some of your smaller stores don't offer these baits in a variety of different colors, so when I get a chance to go to a "bigger" tackle shop (Academy's, Bass Pro Shop, Gander Mountain)  then I take that chance to stock up on my best (favorite) colors.

I would say get some spot removers and some yamamoto cut-tails to put on them.  That is one of my best baits around here.  Just get what ever color works good in your lakes and it should work great.

Wow, that's a pretty broad topic.  I'm not familiar with Dicks but as a suggestion try looking at anything that you can't normally get there.  If in doubt anything with the name Rapala should work!

Might be helpful  if you could narrow it down to certain categories ie: plastics, cranks, spinnerbaits etc.  Pack a lunch and be prepared to spend some time looking and let us know how you make out.  Have fun!   ;)

I think you're asking the wrong question. If you're not sure of what your lure inventory ought to be, then ask or read up or otherwise decide what you need to own. Then you buy at Cabela's or elsewhere that which you can't find at your usual places.
