How many of you brew your own beer? I'm brewing my first batch. It is just a tripel belgian kit. My roommate is doing it with me (it's his second.) Does anybody have any special tips or a certain brew they like?

I would love to brew my own and have been thinking about doing it. My uncle brews a ton of different beers and they are awesome.

I'd like to try it one day. Let me know how they turn out.

Good choice with the variety of beer you chose. I'm a big fan of Chimay Tripel. Will your's be high in alcohol content like most Belgian Strong Ales?

Let us know how it turns out. I may end up giving it a whirl myself. Some of my friends are bugging me to brew my own beer since I have an extensive culinary background and a firm grasp on flavors.

It is supposed to be 8.0%-9.0%. I'm hoping it turns out well, were in the fermenting process right now

Have patience with it.  Your beer will taste better if you age it longer in your carboys.  Also, temperature is very key so do what you can to keep the fermenting beer at the lower end of the range for the yeast you're using.

I'd like to know this too.  My roommate's first batch had a little bit of hops and grains in it because he kept the siphon to low, but other than that, I'm not sure what could go wrong
