  1. Thanks for the heads up on the trade in ending today. I was planning on going on Friday till I read this last night. I woke up this morning to make the trip and picked up the new carbonlite. I thought about picking up chronarch 50e but decided I would save the money and use it to upgrade my current curado 50e.
  2. I think they are great reels for the money. I usually pick one up for myself every time they go on sale. They will be $25 a few times throughout the year. My two brothers and my dad each have one without any problems either.
  3. They are $320 at TW and Basspro. I'm not sure why they had them so cheap. I saw the deal on another forum and immediately started calling around. I called 4 Academys and only two had the zillion in stock. One store had them for $250 and another for the $130. I had to jump on it and picked up the last two they had.
  4. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I just picked up two Zillions for $130 a piece at my local academy. I had to call around as most of the stores were sold out, but if you have an Academy in your area, I would definitely check it out.
  5. They didn't have the 744 available online, but I called the Cabelas in Ft Worth and they had one in stock and sent it to me for that price and did the $5 shipping as well. You could try giving your nearest Cabelas a call and see if they have what you are looking for
  6. Just picked up the 744 havent used it yet. They are on sale on cabelas website for $229.99 if that would have any influence on your decision. A few of the champions are on sale too. Just not sure which model
  7. You might want to take a look at the Falcon Cara. Also, at $230 a bit above your price range, Cabelas has the Dobyns dx763sf for sale. I haven't tried the Dobyns rods so I can't tell you how the perform but I have heard nothing but good things about them and have two casting models on the way, and at $100 off that's a pretty good deal. Edit: my dx744 just came to the door as I was typing that, can't wait to try it out!
  8. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the Mettle, especially at $25. I picked one up on sale and I haven't had any problems with it. Just get there early, they go fast!
  9. I have the chance to pick one of these up that someone used as a spare. Is this a good buy? Whats your opinion on this trolling motor? What are the pros vs cons? http://www.firstchoicemarine.c....aspx
  10. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've got a winch on my deep cranking rod and it has been a great reel for me.
  11. How'd you mess up a batch due to a bad siphon? What has been wrong with you brews? I'd like to know this too. My roommate's first batch had a little bit of hops and grains in it because he kept the siphon to low, but other than that, I'm not sure what could go wrong
  12. Welcome! I just got my first bow a few months ago, can't wait to really get out there and use it.
  13. It is supposed to be 8.0%-9.0%. I'm hoping it turns out well, were in the fermenting process right now
  14. How many of you brew your own beer? I'm brewing my first batch. It is just a tripel belgian kit. My roommate is doing it with me (it's his second.) Does anybody have any special tips or a certain brew they like?
  15. x2 I usually try to do the same thing, or at least keep it somewhere around there.
