RAIN,RAIN AND MORE RAIN,  WHAT NOW?

Featured Replies

SO I FISH A LOCAL PARK POND ABOUT 48 ACRES, ITS ALREADY PRETTY STAINED WATER AND SINCE ALL THE RAIN I KNOW ITLL BE ALOT MORE STAINED AND THAT THE WATER LEVER WILL BE UP SO WHAT SHOULD MY PLAN BE IN PREPERATION FOR THE CHANGES IN NOT ONLY THE BASS BUT ALSO THE CHANGE IN WATER AND SUCH. JUST FOR WORDS I WAS CATCHING ALL MY BASS PRIOR TO THE RAIN ON TOPWATERS AND ZOOM FLUKES, AND WEIGHTLESS WORMS. cover is tons of tules and mostly mud bottoms with a few fallen tress.

Try spinnerbaits, Flashy spinnerbaits, in white/ chartruese and red. Jigs, anything that will move alot of water or will cause a good vibration in the water. :)

thats what i was thinkin of using big flashy spinnerbaits and big dark jigs and plastics. ANYONE ELSE WANNA CHIME IN ILL TAKE ALL THE ADVICE I CAN GET

Dean Rojas has made a ton of money throwing Kermit the frog into bad places. Be sure to have braid to get'um comming your way fast. Just my opinion.Crowcommander

To anyone who uses this bait. Have you figured out how to get it to "walk-the-dog". I have shortened the legs to about1/4 inch and still won't walk. Video at BP says to shorten skirt legs to get it to walk. Any suggestions, bait just doesn'e work well just bobbing up and down.  :-[

Doubt its the frog skirt that cause it not to walk. Lower your rod tip straight down to the water and turn the handle at the very same time you twitch with your wrist.

Thats the first post that i have ever seen someone change the topic, i had no clue what bait you were talking about ;D Try quoting, its a little easier.

Anyways, if they were hitting topwater, you could try a buzzbait?

I apologize Don, didn't mean to hijack.

To your question, a top water and a spinnerbait seem to work best for me when there are high water.

Start off using the same soft baits that you normally do.  See if that gets it.  If not, then yeah, go with spinnerbaits.  Stained water rocks for that.
