  1. Really?, i have a hard time justifying throwing a canoe in the back of my truck everytime i go fishing but i see alot of people do it. Maybe a 13' small canoe would be best for me and a small trolling motor I wanna be known as that person who everytime you drive past the Town Hall pond(nasty water, nobody even sticks their toes in)you see in the middle of the pond in a belly boat, rain or shine.
  2. I thought about it and instead of having to deal with a canoe, i'm going with a belly boat. Anyone use these? I'm thinking i'm going to want waders, so i have to start looking. Anyone have a tube they like? I'm trying to keep it under 100 bucks.
  3. I woke up early one morning, met up with a buddy of mine. Got to the pond and took a cast. Half my rod went with it, along with the line. I just got in the truck and left.
  4. What are you doing with 130 of them ;D I just let it sit on the bottom, instead of just moving it alittle i would every now and then pull it quite aways up and let it sink back down. The bass in the picture hit it when it was falling.
  5. Anyone have problems with them falling apart? I already went threw two worms in about one day and one came off 5 feet from the boat after i whipped it with my casting reel. The birdsnest was nothing pretty. I know someone has some tips for me. Thanks.
  6. I have seen pictures of people catching bass and striper on the same lake, i figure theres a spit going out to the ocean?. Now i'm no genius or tournament fisher, but i thought i had my fish down. Atleast up until now. I mean, this is really screwing with me. I have always thought they were saltwater and its not like i have never fished for them. It feels like i have been cheated on. We all know stripers, but freshwater? Whats the deal?
  7. d**n, i must have done something right. I think i will be using these alot more in the future!
  8. He must of had some help holding it. 70 lbs is a lot to be just holding up ;D
  9. Oh alright, so more like this. I can't get it to really imbed but it just sits close to the worm now. Looks pretty weedless to me. I can't wait to try these out 8-)
  10. I'm already lost ;D
  11. Did i rig this up right?
  12. Sorry about that snap, i really didn't mean anything by it. It just seemed like you were complaining about something that you helped cause. Anyways, the ban will never happen but it will push for biodegradable plastics. You take one cast and they will just disappear > It might actually be better for the company's as there will be a way bigger demand as you need to replace them more often and the always present fact that the price of these things are gunna skyrocket.
  13. You would have to be crazy to open a shop when the economy is in this bad of shape.
  14. Or we could fix the problem and keep fishing? I think this world is filled with enough smart ass's as it is. Tone it down because if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem.
  15. I have two of these, you want to fish them off an object, bounce and hit off timbers and rocks and make it run into the sand. Make a commotion.
  16. Oh man, its really that bad ;D Nevermind! Anyways, my local baitshop carries storm baits, ill try flukes.
  17. Ah, i thought so. I really wanna know who the masterminds behind all the infomercials are. Everyone knows infomercials only sell junk. Yet they keep on doing it. How ignorant can people get? I guess they almost tricked one person?
  18. I woke up to this infomercial and am thinking about trying it. Before i go ahead and waste money, any of you have some testimonials or any feeback. How about a better soft plastic?
  19. Thats the first post that i have ever seen someone change the topic, i had no clue what bait you were talking about ;D Try quoting, its a little easier. Anyways, if they were hitting topwater, you could try a buzzbait?
  20. Once you get going, a casting reel gets as easy as any push button rod. When i'm fishing with people who just start using baitcasters ill whip a small crankbait out father than they can get a large spinner out and take my thumb off the reel completely and use my index finger on the spool. On the long casts with a heavy lure, you can watch the birdsnest forming and then instantly disappear right before the lure hits the water. They are really easy to use. Even people who have used casting reels for years get backlash, so don't get discouraged. As far as line goes, i use Berkley, Trilen XL smooth casting 12lb mono and i'm doing fine with it right now. Although i am getting low and its starting to get some memory.
  21. I had hooked a perch with the farthest treble hook to the back of the crankbait and the other hook was just dangling. I lost control of the fish and dropped it catching my thumb with the loose hook with the fish still hanging from my thumb. Its a d**n shame my anger took ahold and ended up squeezing as hard as i could. Although it did not die, the d**n thing was still pretty shooken up. d**n and the best part about it was i think i got it on camera. My buddy who was runnin the camera panicked and i told him to just rip it out and do it as fast as he could.
  22. I'm not new to fishing, but rather fishing for crappie. Now iv caught these before when trying to fish for Bass and i figure the ponds around here must be stocked with them and although its not spring time, they must be hitting pretty good with the right gear. Heres the question or questions? I primarily use a baitcaster and i don't plan on getting a new rod soon. So i'm all set there. I need to know what you guys use to fish for these guys. I know that jigs are a big, can i get a few links? Also this brings me to my next question. How the hell do i fish these? Just drop it, and toss it up from the bottom a few times or real it in like a crankbait, nice and steady? Thanks guys, i posted on a crappie specialty forum so well see wh gets the better responses
  23. Where do you live? I have a beagle thats in need of training?
