I am going to be striper fishing on the chesapeake bay in April does any one know where I can go and what to throw.

In my experience early spring trophy season is mostly a trolling game. Its a small number of very large, very actively moving deep water fish that time of year.  Thats usually the time of year we break out the bunker spoons and double 13 oz bucktails.  I only know specific spots in Maryland's part of the bay and i'm guessing from your name you're in Virginia so unfortunately I can't help you much there.

Whereabouts in Maryland will you be fishing?

I got a good deal on a charter boat last May and caught a nice 38 incher. Like MDangler 14 i was trolling too but don't remember exactly where in the Bay it was. I think somewhere in the middle
