Clams for carp?

Featured Replies

There is a lake nearby that has alot of clams. I can harvest 150 a day and I plan I using them for catfish. Just wondering, anyone ever hear of useing it for carp? I dont see why the carp wouldn't like them....

Thanks

Matt

Never tried it, but carp and catfish eat some similar stuff so what the heck, give it a shot.

I caught carp on boiled shrimp before so I dont see why clams wont work! ;)

When I was a kid I used to wade for clams, then use then after cutting them up, for gills.  The gills loved em!!

Something I might suggest, buy a loaf of bread, make you some breadballs, the carp love em, and if it works out soak some breadballs in the clams!

Most of the guys I know that fish for carp, just use bread balls or canned corn. I catch some on night crawlers when I'm fishing for walleyes. It can't hurt to try the clams.

Good luck,

Falcon
