In this local creek I fish regularly for smallies, we catch these bluegill/sunfish things, what are they? :-/ I've never seen them anywhere else. There are mostly two kinds. There are ones with very bright red breasts, and ones with white breasts. They look just like a sunfish with a blue gill on them.

Try googling these and see if you recognize anything.

Pumpkinseed sunfish

Green sunfish

Longear sunfish

Redbreast sunfish

Redear sunfish

Orange-spotted sunfish

Catch one and take a pic of him....that would be best thing to do. Then we would be able to help you.
