Pike/Muskie

Recommended Posts

I've used them. Those suckers are heavy! I have used the small one, I think it's a 6" version. I throw it out, let it sink to the bottom and sit for awhile, then I'll swim/jerk it for a few feet, let sit on the bottom for a bit, and repeat back to the boat.

They are a very versatile lure. You can really fish them whatever way you want. You can start reeling as soon as it hits the water or wait till it hits the bottom depending on what depth you want to fish.

For a retreive I give it 3 or 4 fast cranks of the reel pause, 3 or 4 fast cranks, pause etc, etc, etc.

Your definately gonna need some muskie sized tackle. Good lures!

I use the standard size .  After casting it out I let it drop to the depth I want to target.  I then pull her up immediately while cranking the bait.  I then pause and let her drop again.  I do this until I get close to the boat and then figure 8 her when she's boatside.  I like my WI neighbors technique w/  the smaller one that works well but difficult in weeds.

Good Luck
