Peanut Bunker Migration Provides Free Live Bait!

Featured Replies

Each year during the Fall Season, massive schools of peanut bunker, on thier migration to the south, leave the rivers and bays, invading the New Jersey beaches. I am not sure if this is an East Coast thing or if it's just a Jersey thing. Striped bass and other gamefish take advantage of this easy meal and beef up close to our shores. It's a great time to catch both the fish and the Free Live Bait!

Sounds good to me but I live in Virginia and do not do much, if any, saltwater fishing.

I know that this is stripper time in the Garden State so have fun catching those beautiful big fish.

It was crazy and beautiful to watch all at one time! They really did bring in some nice catches too! Here is a picture of one group.

I had never seen that before. It's pretty neat to watch. They were making thier own little whirlpool with an eye to the storm and everything!
