Your Favorite crappie jig

Featured Replies

I have never caught a crappie on a jig. Just on mennows only. This weekend I'm taking the family out to fish for crappie and we want to try our hands at fising for them with jigs

Any body got a favorite they would like to share

Thanks...

Note...  All my tackle and Rods and Reels were stolen with my Burbon Back in September, Going Shopping Friday to replace as much as I can

I just use a 1/8 oz. unpainted round head jig with a small tube in it in blue/charteuse,black /pink or black/yellow.The trick when fishing jigs is fish them S l O W and about 1 foot above where you find fish if fishing from a boat and about 1 foot off the bottom if fishing off the bank.

                                           GOOD LUCK!!

Also try drift fishing with a float this time of year.

ouch...tough break on the gear. Sorry man!

we like mid-south super jigs....typically pink(head) and white(tube) or orange(h) and white(t). Sometimes other(darker) colors depending on clarity, etc. You know the rest. :)

Then we will slide a waxie over the hook, under the tube, and put the barb through the head. then a shot of Bang! spray for good meausre.

Thanks Guys 8-)

Me and the Girls went out to get them today but luck was not in our favor. We could not use the boat as the Tarus doesn't have a tow bar on it. But we had fun fishing from the bank.

Caught sever but non were keepers

Thanks to all that replied and may you have many tight lines on your next outting!

im not really sure of the brand but i got a whole bunch of jigs and little grubs at gandermountain and they work well..that and i use these jigs and take the spiner off of a johnson bettle spin and but i plastic minnow on and usually catch quite a few

I like a 1/32 oz. Chart. or un-painted jig head. For the jig, I like a Black/Chart. or Red/White tube jig. For rods, I'd go with a 12' fly rod. And just work the brush piles with your jig.

Good Luck!! Too bad about all your stuff!! >:( >:( >:(

Tight Lines ;) 8-)
