Owner 5138 Long Neck Hooks

Has anyone else tried these yet. I picked up a couple packs of 3/0 and 4/0 for use with plastics and was amazed. We all know Owner are top notch hooks but these are fantastic! Sharp as h*ll, strong as h*ll and they do not pick up the trash that regular ewg worm hooks do which is a big plus if you fish in weedy waters like I do. There is even a rubber keeper you slide up the shank to keep th bait from sliding down the shank. These will be repacing all my gammie and mustad ewg in short order. Great hookup %. The only fish I have not hooked up with took the back half of my senko on the hookset.

I only use owner hooks.  I think I carry it to the extreme but they have always worked best for me, so the little bit of extra money is nothing compared to the improved catch percentage.  I never tried the ones you mention, but they have certainly caught my eye.  I just have such excellent results with the 4/0 worm hook that I pretty much stopped experimenting.  Oh, and I can get these at the local wal-mart, and that is a big plus.

Those hooks look really nice. Gonna order some eventually! I'll let you guys know but it might not be for a while...

Just wondering exactly how that little bait stopper thingy works and if you gotta put your bait through that to rig it...

fivesixone, I have used those hooks. While the cone stop functions well, the little barb near the hook eye will cause lots of pain and hand damage when trying to remove the hook from a struggling fish. Its size has minimal holding power in soft plastic. While I was using them ( don't any more ) I removed that feature.
