I've heard that people catch Redfish with Zoom Horny Toads aroung mangroves and grass flats. I also heard that they use white or white and char Buzzbaits to imitate crabs on the surface.

Anyone ever caught redfish doing this?

Not on those specific baits. But I have caught them pitching 7" Black worms, spooks, and spinnerbaits. But i still prefer a small swimbait on a jighead.

Redfish are very aggressive and if you find them, they will hit a wide variety of baits. I just got back from Venice, La Sunday. I love redfish!!

I am looking for a location for oct but might go back to Venice. I have already been twice this year. Its my favorite type of fishing by far.

BTW..If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would buy a Ranger 2400 Bay boat, move into a place next to Venice Marina, and fish every single day....
