Stuart, Florida, first fish on fly.

Featured Replies

Thought I would share this...

After much practicing in the backyard to learn how to fly fish I went on a trip to Stuart, Florida and caught my first fish on fly and my first tarpon.

Nice jumps.

Keep up the good work. Fly fishing is so much fun.

Nice job man! It's pretty money that your first fish on fly was a snook too. My first fish on fly was a very small barracuda in the FL Keys.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

And a cuda on fly? You must of had to strip fast, and lucky it didn't bite your leader in half. :P

Did you mean to catch it or were you just practicing your cast?  I remember my first fish was caught by accident when I was just working on casting and picking up line.

Well I had a 30 lb leader, going for snook, and it was a very small cuda, less than a pound. I actually still have that picture  :)

Wow! Very cool. My 1st fish on a fly was a small rainbow trout...  still a thrill though.

I haven't done it in a few years but I used to have a blast flyfishing for Bass with little poppers. I'll have to get back to that...
