New England Pike?

Featured Replies

I have caught a few pike in my fishing career, but no number or great size.  Can anyone recommend a good lake in the Northeast that holds a good population of pike.  I live in NH and don't mind a drive for good fishing.  Also, what time of the year would be best to plan a trip for some nice pike.  A lake that also holds bass would be a plus.  Thanks for any pointers.

Ice out!

Not from NH so I can't offer advice on water bodies, except to say, call/email/Google your Sate fisheries Dept.

Lots of pickeral but few pike in NH. The Conneticut River is the only place in NH that I've caught pike in NH. Nearly every body of water in NH holds some bass. Pickup Clark's Fishing Guide at Northen Bass.

You might also post your inquiry on the Northeast region forum.  (Though Illinois, where I am from, is also in the NE section and has little in common with New England)  Unfortunately, I can't help you.

According to fish and game's website Skatutakee Lake in harrisville,nh has northen pike, http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/bathy_maps/skatutakee_harrisville.pdf i tried it last year with a buddy of mine but we didn't have any luck as far as pike lots of smallie's tho. I don't remember there being much room to launch a boat there tho, we went out in my 10' jon and there's a little Skatutakee across the street which is connected to the big lake, we tried the small part first then went under a very tight bright to get to the actual Skatutakee. I plan on giving it a few more tries this year for some pike

I live Mass about 15 min away from a great river for pike. It called the concord river, haven't fished it that much but have heard of 40+ inch pike being taken out of it, there is also largemouth bass. Couple of my friends have caught some nice pike on this river, hoping to get out their this year.

Mass has lots of good Pike fisheries, NH,not so sure.

Check out the Blackstone River.

PM Bassectomy on this, he'll put you straight.
