I was wondering if there are any carp in the lake I fish on in northern Michigan. The lake is 100 miles north of Grand Rapids. I have never seen a carp in the shallows sunning.

Chances are pretty good that if there's water, there's carp in it.

Lake St. Clair is full of them. The only time I ever see them is when they are spawning. As Coldwaterbassin said there is a good chance there are.

I often fish a 14 acre "lake" about 15 minutes from me. Never thought there was carp in it until I saw two dead, 2 foot long carp floating in it one time.
