Beach has been decent for snook the last few weeks and good sized jacks, most around 8#.

Hit the beach this morning and conditions were not favorable, west wind and flat seas, caught one small snook maybe 26".  Then I see a school of bait being busted so I cast and get slammed instantly, a jack no doubt.  It must have taken me down the beach a good 1/4 mile and nearly spooled my 200yd+ of 15# PP before I started to make headway, finally beaching this little guy.  My foot measurement puts it about 33 or 34", probably in the 30# range give or take a little bit.

7'6 redbone med 8/17# & #40 soron reel, this is what I call fishing.

Great catch man, nothing like a big'ole Snook on the beach.  I need to get out to the Breakers rock reefs and throw a Spook.

Are the greenies in?

A few pods of mullet were around this morning, other than that not much bait.

I have been surpirsed at the number of snook I've caught on the beach this year, it usually doesn't perk up until water hits about 80*.  The Boynton area is know at "the dead zone", fishing way better north of Palm Beach inlet.  All my snook and jacks have been caught with a $2.50 silver spoon, all you really need.

Before the winds last week we were catching sails, dolphin, cobia and kings......be out there again later this week.
