Just got a response from TT.

"Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our products.  Unfortunately I was unable to see the picture you attached the link for.  In regards to your issue with the breaking hook, as you are well aware all the Ikey Head products are finesse fishing lures.  With this said, Mike I. designed the lures using a light wire but very sharp hook...and with that intended the hookset to be a finesse sweeping set as you will see he does a lot when he is catching fish.  I'm not sure how you may have set the hook on the one you broke but I know that I have bent a couple myself using my typical jig hookset rather than the finesse style I am not accustomed too.  As you mentioned it may have also just been a bad hook or with a slight flaw that caused the break.  Either way I will pass your comments on to our QC manager so he can have a look and investigate.

Thanks again for your comments and continued interest in our products."

I have had an Eagle Claw hook and a Chatterbait hook break off but never a jig head hook.

I have these shaky head jigs and have used them only once and had no problems.

But I will watch them closely now that you have shown us one that has failed.

Thanks a million for the heads-up.  ;)

I've bent a couple of those while removing the hook from a the jawbone, and broken one on a the hookset. my mistake, for tying it on 14lb test line, and doing a "Geronimo" hookset.

I use the spike and ballbuster. I really like the shape of the hook. It holds the baits in place nicely.

But, they are best used on light line.

I should have prefaced the post with the equipment I was using.

6'7" M Carrot Stick

6# Yo Zuri Hybrid US

Hard to set the hook like a Samurai with the medium rod....

Oh well, looks like it's time to grab some more Owner sled heads.
