I caught tarpon #1 and 2 this morning on the outgoing this morning.  Healthy juvies about 25# a piece.  The sea was dead flat and no wind, rest of the fishing was just that, dead.  I was fishing with Stu Tinney this morning

Seasonal like any other type fishing, when it's hot it's great and when it's slow it's extremely challenging.  Always catch something on bait but sometimes this time of year you can go a week without a strike on artificial.  Yesterday the conditions were very favorable, outgoing tide, easterly wind, decent groundswell and not strike........I wasn't surprised.

i want to try tarpon fishing so bad lol.But instead of fishing for the giants though id still like to do, i want to use light tackle for the super juvenile ones that are like 5 to 10 pounds

Tarpon fishing is a thrill, anything under 70lbs is tons of fun over and its WORK!  25lbs are a BLAST!

You start catching tarpon over 50 -60# and you need heavier equipment with lost of line capacity.  I prefer the juvies from 15-40#, I caught one last week about 6# on light spinning(2000 real and med rod) and it was a lot of fun.
