Value of bagleys honey b's

Featured Replies

I saw last week on ebay where a rainbow trout honey b went for 42.00,does anyone own a collectors book that shows the honey b's and there different colors and values?

Older Bagleys with the brass line ties are coveted baits.  There are always a ton of older Bagleys on ebay, but recently a guy has been selling a whole collection worth of baits.  He had several that went for $40+.  I saw that rainbow trout Honey B, and a few other Honey B's that went for $20-$30.  It all depends on how many were made (how scarce they are).  Just like baseball cards or anything else I suppose.  I bid on a '70s B2, but I was only willing to pay $15.  It looks like I will have to shell out $20 or so.

those old bagleys were awesome, awesome baits! i had some shallow running honey b's in the tennesee shad pattern and bass would crush 'em like nothin' else. the bagley foiled shad were the best medium cranks i've ever used. i really miss them.

The old Bagley's baits will never be duplicated.

There are a lot of pros who buy them as well as other older baits off eBay.

Some of the oldies work far better than anything made today.

I know Bagley has come out with "classic" baits that use the old templates and hardware.  I also know that some of the pro's will buy up the originals because the newer ones of the classic design aren't as good.  I just can't understand why.  Is the wood different somehow?  I don't get it.

I have around 50 of shallow and deep divers four on the old cardboard wood background packs, wondered if i had some that needed to find a better home for high $'s!  ;D

There are baits made today that are just as good (or better) than the old Bagleys.

The difference was the action......nothing mystical - and there are plenty of crank builders that know these designs inside and out.

THIS is the golden age of crankbait making - not 1960.   ;)
