I fish quite a bit at coffeen, but have not tried a tournament, as I don't have a boat. Would love to try one if I found a partner with a boat.

hey i fihsed coffeen this summer with a huge sucess and i was very surprised that i did considering the weather and the water temp that water is hot hot hot!  i went through so many soft plastics that day it wasnt even funny between the water and the fish :).  i wold fish a touney there

Coffeen is a great winter lake.  I just wish they did have such a low hp rating for the lake. We drain the batteries bad when the winds are bad.

Out of curiosity, what's the HP limit there.  Seems to me a 1000 acre lake should be open to any boat just with a speed limit.

Yes... 25 HP... and if you have ever been to one of the first tournaments of the season (first ones are this weekend), 50 - 70 boats on 1000 acres gets a bit crowded.  It stays like that for much of the winter.  For anyone who is thinking of fishing some of these, the complete schedule is posted at the ramp.  Oh yeah... good luck to all... it usually takes WELL over 20 pounds for 6 fish to win and at lest 18 to even cash a check :o.
