Well, let me preface this post by saying that before today, I had not caught a bass since early January. I have had quite the slump. I went out today not expecting much. I zero'd at my first spot and made the move to the second. The water level is way up into the weedline. I started with a black/blue football jig and got two. I noticed that a few bass were chasing baitfish fairly close to shore, so I put on a lipless crankbait and started rippin. My total was 14, twelve of them being caught in about 40 minutes. The biggest was 3.5, the rest were around a pound or a pound and a half. Overall, it was a great day. I broke my slump with a vengence. No pictures though, because my camera's battery was dead.

nice fish... just out of curiosity, what events did you and your buddy run in track? I run the 110m high hurdles and the 400m intermediate hurdles. dane

Went out early today, caught three short fish, one keeper, and missed another. It was almost so foggy that I couldn't see the water. They hit Strike King jigs in watermelon and orange craw with craw trailers. Air temp was 49 degrees. Some were chasing baitfish on top, but tried a buzzbait and a zara spook to no avail. No pics, as my camera's batteries were dead. Any suggestions for topwater baits that might work? dane P.S. This was lake Coffeen, it is a power plant lake.

I have been having a heck of a time finding a club near men. I live in Greenville, Il which is kind of near lake Carlyle. Also, it is fairly close to St. Louis, which is a drive I would be willing to make, as my wife is from Florissant. If anyone can help me out, let me know. Thanks.

I fish quite a bit at coffeen, but have not tried a tournament, as I don't have a boat. Would love to try one if I found a partner with a boat. dane
