Depends on the time of year. I have 11 rods total in the locker and may have 6 or seven on the deck. If I get on aspecific pattern than I will thin out what I have on the deck. Here are my staples.

#1 G Loomis GLX XHeavy Worm and Jig rod Shimano 50 MG for 3/8 or 1/2 oz. Mop Jig

#2 G Loomis IMX 844 with Shimano Chroanrch 100B for C Rig or another type of jig

#3 G Loomis 783 with Shimano Anteres 200 for Fluke

#4 G Loomis 845CB with Shimano Curado 100DSV for Large Top Water or Trap

$5 G Loomis 843CB with Shimano Chronarch 100BPV for Small Topwater or Crankbait

#6 G Loomis 783 with Shimano Curado 100D for Floating Worm

#7 G Loomis 812 Spinnerbait rod with Shimano Chroanrch 100B DSV for Spinnerbait/Buzzbait

#8 Shimano Crucial 7' Med Xfast with Shimano Chroanrch Topwater or Senko

#9 Shimano Crucial Spinning 6'8" Med Xfast with Shimano Stradic 2500 for Spot Remover

#10 Shimano Compre 6'6" Medfast with Shimano Curado 100DSV T- Rig/Jerkbait ( TD Minnow)

#11 Shimano Crucial 6'8" Med Fast Casting with Shimano Chronarch 100 B Lead Head Fluke/ Ditch Blade

I have several other rods that float in and out of the boat but the ones listed are the staples. Fluke/Jig/ Spot Remover are always on the deck. In the winter I may have 2 or 3 crankbaits on and several types of leadheads. In the summer may have 2 or 3 different types of topwaters depending on conditions. That was fun.

Simple is better.......

Depends on time of year, what lake and whether or not its an all day deal or an evening tournament.

If i am fishing with someone else in their boat, I might have 3 or maybe 4 at the most, depending on who I am fishing with. If I have my way, I only have to use one rod all day, but that doesnt happen much.....

When I fish in my boat, I have 8 rods in the box most times. Here's what i have on deck and when....

Spring: 2 flipping sticks(jig,t-rig),shallow cranking rod, and Spinnerbait rod.

Summer: 2 flipping sticks, buzzbait rod, deep cranking set-up,2 spinning rods(6'6 m/H w/ 10lb flourocarbon)(6'4 med. w/ 6lb test), topwater rod.

Fall: 2 flippin sticks, Buzzbait and/or spinnerbait rod, 3 Shallow and deep cranking rods

Winter: Flipping stick,Deep cranking rod, spinning rods,

When i buy rods and reels, I always try to get stuff that I know that I can use for more than one thing....

I use one of my flipping sticks for a C-rig if i need to. I can throw spinnerbiats and buzzbait on the same rod when i can, Shallow cranking rods can be used for topwaters too. and small buzzbaits and spinnerbaits if needed. Most days I will stick with things better if I dont have all kinds of rods in the boat and stick to a plan other than running around junk fishing.

There are days when you can have one rod out or 15 on deck. Most times I start with:

Texas Rig: Revo STX/ Kistler Helium 7' MH

Shaky head: Pflueger Supreme Magnesium/ G Blanks 6'10" M

Senko/fluke: Revo STX/ Kistler Helium 7' M

Med crank & spinnerbaits: Revo SX/ Fritts 6'6" M

....and in the summertime I always have my Fritts Deep Crankin set-up on deck

Once on the water, you should be able to put some rods away throughout the day and end up with just one or two on deck.....but then again there are other days when you keep pulling out different rods and you soon realize that you have nowhere to walk anymore.

I saw Iaconelli last fall on my home lake and he had 14 combos on deck at the end of one of the days.....his boat was trashed.

I have a team daiwa V td-v701mhrb 7' and would like to purchase another one. Sad to say but I bought this one on clearance at Walmart and am unable to find another one. The price was right and I should have bought several.($12 bucks) where did you purchase yours? I'm in Beaumont Texas.

Usually six or seven on the deck.  I'd rather have less clutter so sometimes a couple less.  Different rods and rigging for every Tor different lake, can't really say there is X setup on the boat every time with a few exceptions.  The spot remover/roboworm on 6.6 medium rod is always there, good for just about any water.  Drop shot rig with a GYCB flattail worm is always ready, use it anywhere.  Senko rig is always there unless the fish are deep, fished in timber-grass edges-pads-docks.  Anywhere a vertical presentation will get you bit.  Oct. to March a jigging spoon is always rigged.  Good on deep(<15') points, deep boat houses, deep timber.   In rocky, timberless, weedless lakes a DLN-DD14-DD22 is always on, deflect it off rocky bottoms.

1. Spinnerbait

2. Carolina Rig

3. Texas Rig

4. Rat-L-Trap

5. Crankbait

6. Jig

7. Buzzbait

8. Jig

Of course exactly what spinnerbait, crankbait, etc , will all depend on the lake/river and situation. But I usually am rigged out with 8 rods.

ahhhh jeez let me think here...not sure on the models of the rod's because most have warn off, but its a typicall assortment of St. Croix, Shimano, Daiwa, All Star and whatever other good rod's I might find on clearance somewhere.

But the lures most permanently attached to them are as follow's.

Football Jig

Carolina Rig 10 inch lizard

Texas Rig Speed Craw

Bittsy Jig on a spinning rod

Spinnerbait

Horny Toad

Floating Tube Jerk worm type bait

Crankbait

Rattletrap

I THINK thats all, changes a little from season to season.

if i am fishing a tourny on my boat, i will have 8-10 rods rigged and ready. when i fish from my partners boat, i try to only bring 6 rods. my rods tend to get beat up more on ther peoples boats.

this is usually the lineup:

1. hollow body frog

2. horny toad/ cane toad/ flappin shad/fluke/senko/ wacky

3. texas rig

4. flippin stick

5. crank bait

6. spinnerbait

7. slender pointer

8. carolina rig (mainly in summer)

9. spook

10. jig

the funny thing is, usually i'll find a particular bait that works, and you fish that rod all day long. but just in case, i bring the whole garage.
