Rules on foul hooking.

Featured Replies

Lets say your using a crank with two treble hooks. One gets into the mouth and the other is attach on outside of mouth, is it still legal? Always wondered.

Totally legal. If there is a hook in the fish's mouth, then don't worry. But if you're bed fishing, and you have no hooks in the mouth, then it's illegal.

Yes, and the tournaments here in Texas they both can be outside the mouth. I have weighed fish that slapped at the lure and were hooked in the tail. Perfectly legal. The rule is in so people do not rig up a big treble and ****** them off the bed.

I was recently told as long as it is near the mouth and you are using a moving bait with trebles you should be good.

Usually"foul hooking" in tournaments is allowed.

Just get the fish in the live well.

No one will ask you how you hooked it.
