How to get into Tournaments?

Featured Replies

I live in the Bay Area, CA. Im 18 and wondering if it is possible to fish a tournament if I don't have a boat? Are there shore tournaments? Can i rent a boat? Can someone fill me in, ive fished my whole life and would like to fish some tourney's for fun.

Thanks.

Check the bass clubs in your area. They usually have monthly tournaments and you would be paired up with a member that has a boat each month. I have never heard of shore tournaments, but I don't doubt that there are a few around.

Look into bass clubs. I joined a bass club this year, and fish about 2-3 weekends a month. I also fish the BFL northeast division. The bass club and the BFL have boaters and non boaters. The only difference with BFL and the bass club is that in the BFL the boaters vs. boaters and non boaters vs non boaters.
