I want to be in a fishing tournament!

Featured Replies

I've been looking since last year for a fishing tournament/contest in my area. I can't find one anywhere and I want to be in one just to see how I do. I've looked in newspapers and online and still can't find any. Any ideas on how I might be able to find one? I can't even find a club. Do you think there are some contest that will allow people to join without a boat?

Don't know how close this one is to you but I would call and enter now to try to get in as a co-angler. You will need to read the tournament fishing articles here in our library. Good Luck! CJ

Hi there,my area has two bass clubs.I had contacted both on the internet and posted an ad that if anyone who owned a boat and was looking for a partner that i would be interested. For the last two seasons nothing had worked out so this year i was a little hesitent to post another ad but i did and then came this phone call from someone who was looking to join in on the tournaments and needed a partner. Our tournaments are usually about a three hour drive to get to most of the lakes, but i was like you ,eager to give it a try.We had our first tournament in May and out of 26 teams we ranked 23.Even though we didn't win a trophy,i had a blast catching fish, cruising in a bass boat and just taking it all in.Now our second tournament is coming in July and i can't wait, once you try fishing tournaments you'll be hooked.I plan on purchasing a boat in the near furture.Don't give up.

23 out of 26 ain't bad considering I zeroed my first three. Congratulations on having a great time. FYI the disease only gets worse.

I'm in two clubs. Both you can join as a boater or non-boater. I do have a boat. Anyone will let you climb in and fish. Bunch of good people in this industry!! I love the competition, adrenaline, everything about it!! Gives me chills just thinking about it!!
